Article promoting advertisements in the Evening News, which refers to an advertisement by Sainsbury's (see SA/MARK/ADV/1/1/1/1/1/6/16/85). 'Grandmother, living in a quieter age, possibly found it a thrilling and interesting break in her sheltered routine to go from shop to shop in search of lowest prices. Housewives to-day,with so many varied interests to attend to, have a much quicker way of deciding this comparatively prosaic matter of price. They follow the advertisements, knowing that the goods advertised so frequently cost considerably less than goods of the same kind not advertised. An opportunity which occurred last week provides a typical example. Grouse advertised in The Evening News by one of London's leading provision stores were offered at half the price asked in neighbouring non-advertising shops. The moral is obvious: save time as well as money by planning your shopping news with the help of the advertisements in your Evening News.
