Staff required for new Putney store advertisement. Staff required include: 'Butchers', 'Provisions Tradesmen & Store Servicemen', 'Cashiers', 'Deputy Chief Clerk', 'Clerk's', 'Display Assistants' and 'Catering Manageress'. Includes illustration (based on a photograph) of staff members in a tiled, counter-service store. The advertisement is slightly odd - Putney branch had been fully refurbished in 1955 (see JS Journal February and May 1955 issues) when it was converted from a Coppens to a Sainsbury's store and at the time of closure would not have featured mahogany and marble (or look anything like the picture which shows a traditional counter service store).
