"Chicken Zorba" (Amanda Burton) celebrity recipe commercial

Television commercial (60 seconds) with “Sainsbury’s. Everyone’s favourite ingredient.” slogan. The 19th commercial in the celebrity recipe series which show celebrities explaining how to cook various dishes with Sainsbury’s ingredients. It was filmed on 21 to 24 March 1995 at York Way Studios, London and was due to air from 23rd April to 6th May 1995 on the UK commercial television network (excluding Ulster, STV, Grampian and S4C) on ITV, Channel 4, GMTV and satellite. The clock number (reference number for the advert) was AMV/SAAB307/060.

The advertisement features Amanda Burton (actor) with her children making Chicken Zorba (marinated chicken and houmous in pitta bread). The recipe was created by a Sainsbury’s customer who had won the “Your recipe for success” competition (see JS Journal May 1995, page 3). The voiceover at the end is by Anthony Hyde.
