"Sleeping Butcher" television commercial

Television commercial (30 seconds) promoting Sainsbury's guarantee that "if you are not satisfied with any cut of Sainsbury's beef, we'll refund your money and replace the beef". The advertisement was shot on 31 August and 1 September 1995 at Shepperton Studios Stage L, aired on television from 17 September 1995 and has clock numbers (reference numbers) of AMV/SASB351/030 and AMV/SASB352/030 (revised version). The script of the revised version (SASB352) appears to be identical to that of the first version (SASB351) so it is unclear how they differ.

The advertisement shows a butcher (played by Stuart McQuarrie) at home sleeping soundly at night knowing that the beef he sells is of high quality. The advertisement ends with the "Sainsbury's. Everyone's favourite ingredient" slogan and includes the "European Quality Beef" logo. The background music track is a version of "Thirty Something" (see audio cassette number 607) - which was used in several late 1990s 'Everyone's favourite ingredient' television commercials. The voiceover is by Paul McGann. It was directed by Rod Butcher of production company James Garrett & Partners Ltd.
