Television commercial (60 seconds) promoting Sainsbury's Paws Supreme and Scout's Supreme pet foods. It was filmed at Twickenham Studios on 12th to 14th September 1995 and aired on television from 8th October 1995.
The commercial features a cat 'Paws' (played by Sophie) and a dog 'Scout' (played by Poppy) teaming up to catch two burglars (played by Terence Plummer and Derek Ware) in their owner's ('the Colonel' - played by John Ringham) home by tripping them up with tins of pet food. The burglars then fall in to the cellar in a slapstick sequence (a bit like in the film 'Home Alone') and the cat locks the door. A policeman (Charles Pemberton) comes to arrest the burglars and the Colonel feeds Scout and Paws. With voiceover by Penelope Wilton.
The pet food is described as "Food fit for heroes" like on the barker cards (shelf edge labels - see SA/MARK/ADV/2/2/8/9 and SA/MARK/ADV/2/2/8/10). With "Sainsbury's: Everyone's favourite ingredient" slogan.
Advertising agency: Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, developed by FourHead creative consultancy. Ident/clock number AMV/SARB353/060. Director: Richard Sloggett. Production company: Sloggett Films. Music: original composition by Joe Campbell and Paul Hart (Joe & Co.).
