"Faces & Prices III" television commercial

Television commercial (40 seconds) with the slogan “Sainsbury’s. Essential for the essentials”. Promotes Sainsbury’s White Bread (29p), Sainsbury’s Minced Steak & Kidney Pie (32p), Sainsbury’s American Long Grain Rice (84p).

The advertisement starts with four actors (portraying customers) morphed into one shot saying "What they started in 1993 Sainsbury's are continuing in 1994, hundreds of low prices on everyday essential items". This is followed by footage of products, graphics and a male voiceover promoting the various offers. It finishes with the four actors "Join us and see why so many more shoppers are going to Sainsbury's for the essentials" followed by the “Sainsbury’s. Essential for the essentials" slogan.

The advertisement was part of the Essential Low Price Campaign and was broadcast during the week commencing 9 January 1994 (see Special Bulletin 9/94).
