Television commercial (40 seconds) promoting Sainsbury’s “Try Before You Buy” service at its delicatessen counters. The advertisement was filmed on 18th and 20th June 2000 and first aired on 6 August 2000.
It stars celebrity chef Jamie Oliver who is with a friend (played by Finlay Robertson) decorating a house (filmed at a flat in London). They are hungry so he goes shopping at Sainsbury’s (filmed at Tooting store) where he takes full advantage of ‘Try Before You Buy’ at the delicatessen counter. He goes back home but is no longer hungry after all the sampling he did. Slogan “Sainsbury’s making life taste better”, with voiceover by Julian Rhind-Tutt.
