Memorandum about 'Makers of the Millennium' Medal Collection

Memo to staff from Cath Rees and Matt Samuel informing them about the introduction of the Sainsbury's 'Makers of the Millennium' Medal Collection, which features 21 personalities from the past and present who have shaped the last thousand years, including John Harrison, William Shakespeare and Mohammad Ali.

From 14 June 1999, customers would receive millennium medals free with specific food products and when spending £15 or more at any Sainsbury's pertol station. Avid collectors were also able to complete their collections quickly by purchasing a pack of 4 medals in-store for 99p. Sainsbury's Makers of the Millennium Albums were available in-store at £1.99 for customers to store all 21 medals in and to ensure that they were "perfectly preserved".
