Brochure (68 page glossy illustrated A4 size booklet) promoting products on sale at Sainsbury's during summer 2000 including recipes, vouchers, and food ideas. The booklet was available for free to Sainsbury's customers and features the 'Making Life Taste Better' slogan.
Includes features on: new products, barbecues, fish, olive oil and fresh herbs, French bread, ready-to-eat salads and ready meals, honey, the tasteforlife.co.uk website, value family meals with Brtish meat, organic foods, fennel, cheese, questions on genetically modified (GM) foods, Cape and Outspan fruits, ice cream, children's baking, children's packed lunches, and sun care products.
There was an issue with an article on page 15 which omitted to indicate the correct storage advice for creating your own herb-flavoured oils. A flyer "Important customer advice..." was issued to inform customers of the correct storage practices.
The booklet is divided into the following sections:
"What's new in store" - promotes a wide range of new own-brand and supplier branded products.
"Did you know?" - including information on salt being reduced in Sainsbury's foods; promotes: Hellmann's Dressings; Sainsbury's new Calais supermarket; and Sainsbury's Drinks Club.
"Summer barbecues" - promotes barbecue foods including Sainsbury's Special Selection Sausages with Sainsbury's Tex 'n' Mex Flour Tortillas, Sainsbury's Quarterpounders, fresh fish, Sainsbury's Fresh 'n' Ready salads, Sainsbury's ready-prepared barbecue meats range and Lea & Perrins 5 Minute Marinades; recipes (quick and sticky, tangy barbecue sauce; summer sangria punch; swordfish with lime, soy and pawpaw and mango salsa; noodle salad with soy sauce).
"Olive oil and fresh herbs" - promotes olive oils, herbs (including Sainsbury's Fresh Herbs range), vinegars and Italian-style bread; recipes (pasta with oregano and olive oil; pork steaks with thyme, sage and balsamic marinade; fennel, dill and red onion salad).
