The price list covers the full range of Sainsbury's products, i.e. meat, poultry and game, groceries and provisions, although it may not cover all products available within specific ranges.
It is hard to see any order in the layout of the pamphlet although similar products from the various departments are listed next to each other. In general dairy products are listed at the start of the pamphlet, charcuterie, groceries and "sundries" (mostly assorted groceries) in the middle and meat and poultry at the end.
Each page is headed with a title stating the nature of the products listed on those pages, at intervals through the pamphlet there are line drawings of customers from various dates in the company's history commending the quality of Sainsbury's products, usually with a connection to the products listed on that page. The front cover is illustrated with line drawings of two husband and wife customers in customers from the 1860s and the 1930s and a banner slogan "1869-1939. 70 Years of Good Providing"; the back cover is blank. There is a short history of the company on the first page, reiterating Sainsbury's emphasis on quality.
The pamphlet has 32 folios. Indexed.
The price list was valid for a fortnight, subject to market fluctuations.
Duplicate copy has been stamped with the branch address of the branch at 26 Woodcote Road, Wallington.
