Postcard advertising new ranges of household goods to be stocked by the Sainsbury's Grocery department at 35 High Street, Potters Bar branch.
The products include matches, candles, polishes, soap and soap powders, soda and starch, and are mostly brand-name items listed with their prices. On the front of the postcard there is a printed letter to the customer, the products and prices are listed on the reverse.
The price list is printed on a standard-sized postcard (141 mm x 101 mm) but must have been sent to customer enclosed with something else, or picked up in branch, since there is nowhere to write an address. This appears to be the earliest evidence of the sale of household goods in Sainsbury's branches.
