'Living Today' leaflet No. 9, "You and the Environment"

Booklet containing information for customers about the environment including: the greenhouse effect and climate change; CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and their impact on the ozone layer; action by Sainsbury's to protect the environment; waste and recycling; leaded and unleaded petrol; and actions which can be taken by customers. The pictures on page 8 and the back page are from Ladbroke Grove, London branch. According to a covering memorandum (SA/MARK/ADV/3/5/4/1/9/1) the booklet went into branches from Monday 6th March 1989 to coincide with the International Environment Conference in London at which the Chairman (Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover) was speaking.
