Image showing: Sainsbury's Italian Iced Dessert Strawberry Sorbet; Sainsbury's Italian Iced Dessert Lemon Sorbet; Sainsbury's Italian Iced Dessert 2 Amaretti; and Sainsbury's Italian Iced Dessert 2 Tartufi. The picture is included in 'JS Journal' August 1984 page 10-11. 'JS Journal' (Sainsbury's staff magazine) describes the products: "The latest continental superstar to arrive in this country is Sainsbury's new range of Italian Iced Desserts. All full of natural ingredients, such as full cream, eggs and fresh fruit, the desserts are made by a small family business in Milan. Two Sorbets—Lemon and Strawberry—are included in the range and give ample servings for six people. As well as being made in Italy all the ingredients are local like the Sicilian lemons! New Sorbets cost £1.98 (500ml). Also in the range are two iced dairy desserts with a real Italian ring—Amaretti and Tartufi. Both comprise two servings. Amaretti contains amaretto liqueur and is covered with a delicious coating of crushed nuts. Tartufi is also nutty, flavoured with hazelnuts and almonds and dusted with chocolates and almonds. These luxury desserts cost £1.95 (180g). Sainsbury's new Italian Iced Desserts are available from 46 selected branches and freezer centres".
