Press pack containing information about a competition organized by Sainsbury's and Bankside Gallery to design two wine labels for Sainsbury's. An exhibition of the designs submitted for the competition was held at the Bankside Gallery in London on 21 to 28 February. The competition was open to artists from the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) and Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and aimed to raise funds and promote the two societies. The works submitted for the competition were sold at a silent auction. Includes press release "The Art of Fine Wine from Sainsbury's (20 Feb 1997), list of works on sale from the competition (in one copy of the pack only), photograph of the winning labels on Chardonnay Vin de Pays D'Oc 1995 and Merlot Vin De Pays D'Oc 1995, programme (leaflet) of exhibitions at Bankside Gallery, biography of Mary Louise Coulouris (winner of the competition), and press release about the Bankside Gallery.
