Publicity material and other papers relating to a cookery competition for children initially called Sainsbury's Young Cook of Britain and later called Sainsbury's Futurecooks. The competition was a scheme for children aged 8 to 14 years old (later 11 to 14 years) to cook a special meal for the 'guest of your dreams'. Children could enter either as an individual or as part of a school project. Prizes were given to individual school pupils (such as a trip to Disneyworld for the national winner in 1989), and equipment was given to the home economics department at the schools of the regional winners. The competition was organized by The Young Cooks Club of Britain (Anna Best and Peta Brown), and was sponsored by Sainsbury's. The event had previously been sponsored by another company Tricity until 1986 under the name the Junior Cook of the Year award. Since Sainsbury's took over sponsorship of the event in 1989 it was held annually until 1994. Includes: press cuttings; examples of competition logos; competition leaflets; copies of production meeting; directors CVs; press pack and a draft of Wireless Pictures Ltd plan for the presentation of Future Cooks 1991. Also 4 colour photographs of the winner of Young Cook of Britain 1989.
