Constructed packaging for cooked and prepared meats and savoury pies

J. Sainsbury Tongue jar

Shallow colourless glass jar which would have been used to hold ox tongues. The lid is missing. The base of the jar bears the following raised moulded inscriptions, 'J SAINSBURY' and 'LONDON R - 7564 - 4'.
