Moulded, colourless glass bottle that would have contained rennet. There are two rectangular white paper labels on the side of the bottle, the reverse label gives directions for use and the front label features an Art Deco-style design printed in green and black. The front label also features an inscription, '"SELSA" BRAND ESSENCE OF RENNET PREPARED IN ENGLAND Sold only by J. SAINSBURY'. A third damaged paper label on the neck of the bottle bears the Sains-berry logo.
The bottle is sealed with a cork, but it is not original. There are also additional non-original white stickers on the base and side of the bottle.
