The image was used in 'JS Journal' June 1980 page 4 and 5. 'JS Journal' states "Hardware flair may soon become a byword around Blackfriars—yet again the departments ability to pick the right kind of products for JS [Sainsbury's] has been demonstrated, this time by the new cookshop section. Launched on February 4, cookshop is now in six branches (Blackpole, Kempston, Kings Heath, Cannon Park, Telford and Lordshill) and features fairly exclusive, upmarket cookware items. 'At the moment it's an experiment' said buyer responsible Sandra Denness 'to see whether we can sell this kind of merchandise—and we're certainly proving that we can! Most of the products you would normally only find in department stores and we were a bit worried about some of the lines because they are so expensive, but already we are thinking about general distribution for some of the commodities because of their successful sales.' For one new range, the Spong 1856 co-ordinated system of kitchen equipment designed by Conran (of Habitat fame), special hessian backed and pine fronted shelves have been designed, and it is hoped that these will be extended for all cookshop ranges and shortly the section will be readily identifiable by the inclusion of a distinctive canopy over the top of the displays". Prices of products are included in 'JS Journal'.
