Issues of 'Press Digest', a Sainsbury's internal mailout produced weekly containing photocopies of press cuttings and broadcast transcripts about Sainsbury's and food retailing. It contained "a selection of some of the more important items" about those topics, and was more selective than the 'Daily Presscut' mailouts. They include articles from national newspapers, local newspapers, and trade journals, and transcripts from television and radio broadcasts.
Comments in the 19th February 1973 issue state that Press Digest was "issued primarily to keep managers informed" but should also be made available to a wider group of Sainsbury's staff "to encourage staff to broaden their horizons", and that the Press Digest was now to be issued to branches (in addition to head office staff).
