Sainsbury's introduction and history video (American version)

Video providing an introduction to Sainsbury’s and its history.

The video starts with a brief overview of the company’s history including several images from the Sainsbury Archive. The video then goes on to discuss the contemporary business (circa 1988). This includes: the expansion of Sainsbury’s across England and Wales; statistics about the company and financial performance; subsidiaries including expansion to the United States (Shaw’s); awards received; technology including barcode scanning checkouts; the company’s philosophy. The video features still photographs and graphics (no video footage is included) relating to various aspects of the company including images of various stores.

This is the American version of the video (with monetary figures eg profit levels stated in US dollars). There was also a version of the video for the UK which features monetary figures stated in pounds sterling. Apart from the currency the content of the video seems to be similar or identical.
