The film features Stuart Hall (television presenter) who is depicted as shopping at Sainsbury's to find the food and drinks for a meal to entertain a visitor, and cooking the meal at home. He meets Eileen Fromow (former Sainsbury's home economist) at the store.
Includes footage around Wandsworth store, using the telephone to order meat from the butchers working in a preparation room, staff working at the test kitchens at Sainsbury's head office to test the quality of food, going to the checkout, cooking the meal, and enjoying the meal. The footage also includes trolleys, store displays, customers, own-brand products, and the exterior of Wandsworth store. Discusses matters including quality control, own-brand products.
The film was intended to be distributed to women's organisations over the Southern half of the country and the Midlands (see JS Journal December 1971 page 43).
