Black and white contact prints and negatives showing Members of Parliament and peers from the Parliamentary All-Party Group for the Retail Trades on a visit to Sainsbury's Streatham store.
Two of the photographs were used in JS Journal (staff magazine) March/April 1990 issue. JS Journal explains that "STREATHAM COMMON store recently welcomed a visit by 13 members of the Parliamentary All-Party Group for the Retail Trades. The MPs and Peers visit three or four retailers annually to gain greater practical knowledge. Retail director, Colin Harvey, construction director, Peter Ibbotson, and company architect, John Huxtable, hosted the event which included a presentation on the architectural and environmental features of the store.
The group also visited the nursery situated in the JS restored Beehive Coffee Tavern. The pilot nursery is run jointly by the company and the West Lambeth health authority and it offers ten subsidised places to JS staff."
The photographs appear to have been taken by photographer Ian Cook (who is named on the negative sleeves).
