Sainsbury's had a fleet of five balloons each in the shape of an item of fresh produce: a strawberry, a bunch of carrots, an apple, a bunch of bananas and a bunch of flowers. The balloons helped promote the Fresh Food, Fresh ideas campaign and took part in a number of events, including balloon festivals, agricultural shows and visits to schools. A conventionally shaped hopper balloon (a hopper balloon carries one person in a harness) was also operated (G-BXTG). This had been signed 'Sainsbury's Quality Products from Northern Ireland' and later just with the Sainsbury's logo. The balloons were managed and flown by Flying Pictures Limited.
