File of correspondence and other papers (including press cuttings) relating to Sainsbury's hot air balloon programme.
Sainsbury's had a fleet of five balloons each in the shape of the following items of fresh produce: a strawberry, a bunch of carrots, an apple, a bunch of bananas and a bunch of flowers. The balloons promoted the Fresh Food, Fresh ideas campaign and took part in a number of events, including balloon festivals, agricultural shows and visits to schools. The balloons were managed and flown by Flying Pictures Limited.
There is also a proposal to make a 'The Biggest Shopping Basket in the World' balloon, but this does not appear to have gone ahead.
