File containing correspondence, timetables, notes and a press release about Sainsbury's hot air balloon programme (also known as Sainsbury's Flying Circus and Sainsbury's School Tour). The file is from Sainsbury's Local Public Relations department.
Sainsbury's had a fleet of five balloons each in the shape of the following items of fresh produce: a strawberry, a bunch of carrots, an apple, a bunch of bananas and a bunch of flowers. The balloons were designed to promote the Fresh Food, Fresh ideas campaign and took part in a number of events, including balloon festivals, agricultural shows and visits to schools. The balloons were managed and flown by Flying Pictures Limited. There are also letters of thanks from children at a school visited on the school tour.
Letters relating to the Festival 2000 in Hounslow and to a review of corporate community investment for Business in the Community are also included.
