Audio recording of Sainsbury's 'Lullaby Tape' and related memorandum.
The tape was a recording of sounds from stores such as sounds of trolleys, plastic bags rustling and check out scanning.
It was a response to an article in the Sunday Telegraph on 17 August 1997 about parents bringing their babies during the early hours of the morning in the hope that the sounds in the store would lull their children to sleep. The tapes were to be given away for free in 24 hour opening stores to customers on request.
