Video produced to inform Sainsbury's staff about developments in the company during the 1987-1988 financial year.
Contents:
00:00: Introduction by unidentified presenter (out-of-vision) including summary of financial results and some major achievements. Footage includes view from head office; results being viewed by staff on a computer with screenshot; store interior with customers and staff.
02:03: Sir John Sainsbury [Chairman and Chief Executive] [later Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover] explains why the company had been successful that year.
03:18: Discusses developments in stores including the opening of Ladbroke Grove store, new store features, new shelf edge labelling, the new store development programme. Footage is included of: store opening with Sir John Sainsbury greeting customers; Ladbroke Grove store exterior; store interior; Coffee Shop; and shelf edge labels. An interview with Sir Roy Griffiths (Deputy Chairman and Managing Director) is included.

15:57: Discusses the "25 Year Club" event in October 1987 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel for staff who had worked at Sainsbury’s for 25 years. Footage of the event and Sir John Sainsbury’s speech is included.
17:18: Sir John Sainsbury concludes the programme. He talks about the company’s latest award from the Sunday Times (for being one of Britain's most "respected" companies) and expresses his appreciation to staff.
