Recording of a Sainsbury's Business Television programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams) featuring footage of a talk by Sainsbury's chief executive Justin King to introduce himself to staff. The talk took place on 29 March 2004, probably in the auditorium at Sainsbury's Holborn Store Support Centre (head office). The programme was probably broadcast on the same day or shortly afterwards by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices.
Before the talk Justin King is introduced by Peter Davis (chairman). In the talk Justin King discusses: his personal life and interests; his background in business; his philosophies in business - the past, trying new things, importance of people; his visits to stores; emphasis on sales as main priority rather than costs; how he feels the company can make a difference - changing the nature of food in the UK.
The talk is followed by questions from the audience: top three things to do in immediate future - take advantage of change in chief executive, strategy, external expectations; and what he had learned about people agenda from previous companies he had worked for.
Duration: 19 minutes.
