Unedited footage filmed for "Countdown to Christmas" programme, 10 December 1996

Four videos containing unedited footage of the opening day at Sale store in Greater Manchester, and a recording of the introduction and interview for a "Countdown to Christmas" business television programme broadcast on the "SMART" network (Sainsbury's Management and Retail Television) on 10 December 1996. The videos show incomplete takes and rehearsals involving presenter John Howard and director David Clapham. The programme title graphics are also included, but the Archive does not seem to have a recording of the finished programme. There is also included in this file a fifth video labelled "Sainsbury's Christmas Decorations 1996 (Version 2)" containing footage showing Christmas decorations and promotional materials (e.g. barker cards) in an unidentified Sainsbury’s store, which may or may not be related to the "Countdown to Christmas" programme.
