Four videos containing unedited footage probably filmed for use in an "It's the Business" programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams). "It's the Business" was the anchor business television programme on the "SMART" network (Sainsbury's Management and Retail Television). In a special programme broadcast on 24 January 1997 presenter John Howard says that the next "It's the Business" programme would be on 4 February, and the dates of these videos suggest that they may relate to that programme. However the Archive does not seem to have a recording of a programme broadcast on this date.

Contents:
- Brief interviews with Sainsbury’s staff with their questions and concerns about Sainsbury’s Bank following the Midlands Region Management Briefing (for Sainsbury’s and Homebase store managers etc in Sainsbury’s Midlands region) about Sainsbury’s Bank held on Tuesday 14 January 1997.
- "Piece to camera" (presenter speaking to the camera) with Emma Freud (representing Comic Relief). She explains to Sainsbury’s staff how they can help support Comic Relief Red Nose Day by encouraging sales of the "Delia’s Red Nose Collection" booklet and carrying out fundraising activities like a swear box in the staff room or sponsored "splatting" of the store manager. Also includes close-up shots showing the Red Nose Collection booklet.
- Studio discussion with director David Clapham, three store managers and business television presenter John Howard. The managers are Simon Naish (East Grinstead), Kevin Keeney (Bagshot Road, Bracknell) and Andy Smith (Newbury). They discuss the operational issues which were "uppermost in the minds of store managers". This includes: changes to dressing policies (dressing forward versus dressing down - how products are arranged on shelf); "PF" (productivity factor – a measure which impacts on the number of staff hours that a store can pay for) being increased and impact on customer service; PF as a measure rather than looking at labour costs overall; availability and stock loss; improving communication; perception of cost-cutting measures, morale and impact of the "SEC strategy"; and the regional structure.
