Recording of "It's the Business" programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams). "It's the Business" was the anchor programme on the "SMART" network (Sainsbury's Management and Retail Television). Starting with this programme, the "SMART" network name was replaced by "Sainsbury's Business Television", and this programme appears to have been the last one formally titled "It's the Business". It was broadcast live on 7 December 1999 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices. It was presented by John Howard in the studio.
Contents:
01:07: Introduction by presenter John Howard.

05:51: Interview in the studio with group chief executive Dino Adriano about delivering greater sales over Christmas and the Millennium, availability, Sainsbury's share price, and the past year.
09:44: Interview with senior manager, retail operations Nigel Wade about work to ensure the company's systems are "Year 2000 compliant" [ensuring systems weren’t affected by issues caused by year dates stored in a two digit format – the "Millennium Bug"], and the need for "store champions". Includes footage of "Year 2000 Store Information Pack" and computers with "Millennium News" newsletter onscreen.
13:45: Report by Jonathan Wills on London's forthcoming Millennium celebrations. Sainsbury's Blackfriars head office was to have a good view of the fireworks and "river of fire". The names of staff who have won cash prizes in the Millennium Celebration Colleague draw appear onscreen.
15:56: Clips of staff in branches saying what they would like to see Sainsbury's do in the new Millennium, followed by Dino Adriano's comments on speculations, including rumours that Sainsbury's might acquire Somerfield's stores.

The video ends with the message onscreen "WISHING YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SUCCESSFUL 2000" superimposed over footage of a Sainsbury's Tickle Tickle Wiggle Wiggle [a Christmas-themed musical soft toy containing chocolates with truffle centres].
Duration: 20 minutes 30 seconds (excluding 56 second countdown at start of video).
There are five additional videos of unedited footage ("rushes") for this video, excluding those catalogued with the 7 September 1999 programme.
