Recording of a Sainsbury's Business Television programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams). It was broadcast live on 9 January 2001 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices. It was presented by John Howard in the studio.
Contents:
1. Introduction by presenter.
2. Studio discussion reviewing the Christmas trading period with Graham Naylor (Central Retail Operations Director), Ian Merton (Commercial/Fresh Foods Director) and Diane Carter (Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations and Planning). Includes live phone in with Sainsbury’s staff.
3. Report on the launch of Sainsbury’s One mobile phone service (connected with Sainsbury’s Reward Card scheme). Includes interview with Stephen Vowles (Director of Customer and Category Marketing). Footage is included of customer using mobile phone next to store entrance; leaflets and point of sale advertising to promote the service.
4. Studio interview with Graham Naylor about review of the district structure.
5. Video on January promotions in particular the “helping you to a healthier lifestyle” promotion of healthier foods. Includes footage of displays and point of sale advertising in a store.
6. Studio discussion about healthier foods promotion with Graham Naylor, Gill Fine (Company Nutritionist), and Sue Oldreive (Nutrition Scientist).
Duration: 28 minutes. Sound is very poor (choppy) on this tape so it is not possible to follow most of the discussion and other dialogue in the programme. Produced by Sainsbury’s Group Internal Communications. The footage from stores is probably from New Cross, London store (which is thanked in the end credits).
There are three additional videos of unedited footage ("rushes") for this video.
