Recording of a special Sainsbury's Business Television programme for Sainsbury's staff (mainly store management teams) titled "fresh focus on Christmas". It was broadcast on 4 December 2001 by satellite to Sainsbury's stores, depots and offices. It was presented by Steve Knight in the studio.
The programme was the third of a series of three "making Christmas special" programmes about the Christmas trading period from 7 November to the New Year.
Contents:
1. Introduction by presenter in studio, and showing Jamie Oliver going into Ladbroke Grove store.
2. Ian Elkins (Regional Operations Director) discussing the perishable products on offer for Christmas and what they want stores to do at Christmas to improve sales. Footage is included of the store; products.
3. Jamie Oliver (celebrity chef) is shown shopping in Ladbroke Grove store and talking to staff. He shows some of the products on offer and explains how staff can encourage sales through ‘selling up’ etc.
4. Fin Cottall explains the opportunities to develop sales in the fresh foods departments. Includes footage of product displays and customers shopping.
5. Jim Quigley (store manager) talks about the recovery after Christmas and what they need to do. Footage of products which should be promoted is included.
6. Peter Davis gives a Christmas message with some of the key points for the Christmas trading period.
7. Further footage of Jamie Oliver at Ladbroke Grove.
