January 1st 1921 and was made a
director in August 1933. He
became Chairman on the death
of Mr. J. B. Sainsbury on
June 7th 1956. -

younger son of
Mr. J. B. Sainsbury joined
the firm in autumn 1930. He
was made a Director in
February 1934 and for many
years was Joint General
Manager with Lord Sainsbury.

eldest of Lord Sainsbury's
three sons is now
appointed Vice-Chairman.
Mr. J. D. joined the firm in
1950 and became a
Director in 1958. -
