The photograph features the two level loading bay at the branch, which was located behind the branch on King Harry Street. As explained in 'JS Journal' December 1970, lighter goods such as breakfast cereals were handed up to the higher level and heavier palletised goods were discharged at the lower level. A Sainsbury's Bedford lorry VGY 794G with "Good Food Costs Less at Sainsbury's" livery is in the loading bay.
