How would I go about finding out the first name of the Mr. Chapman mentioned top left of the postcard? My Grandfather, Frederick Charles Beadle worked for the removals form, and Chapman was also probably related.

Dear Wendy,
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately the staff records of the Lewisham drapery, furniture and removals business seem to have been kept separately from the ones for the main Sainsbury’s food business. I’ve had a look through the very limited information we have but have not been able to find out Mr. Chapman’s first name or anything more about him. You can read more about the Lewisham business in the Sainsbury’s staff magazine ‘JS Journal’ at: https://d1nvj7b44vmgv4.cloudfront.net/_file/journal/SA_SC_JSJ_39_2.pdf#page=20. I’m sorry we could not be more helpful.
Best wishes,
