Ration card issued by Sainsbury's (stamped by 74 George Street, Luton branch) to a customer in May 1952.
The card was "issued to facilitate the fair distribution of available supplies of certain non-rationed commodities". On the front cover it lists the number of points for meat, eggs, fats, cheese, bacon, sugar. Inside the card is a table with columns for each of the 52 weeks of the year, and rows for commodities: sausages, 'CD fruit', dried fruit, and 'line J' to 'line N'. This table has various markings, presumably to indicate the customer had purchased their ration during that week.
