At one stage there was a specific department dedicated to serving the wholesale market; in the 1930s this was called the Hotel and Restaurant Department. At other periods it is difficult to separate wholesale and retail material, either due to conflation of the two by Sainsbury's at the time of the documents' creation or as a result of their subsequent administrative history. It is therefore advisable to check material in SA/MAR/ADV in addition to material in this Sub-Sub-Fonds.
