I started at 850 Seaford at the age of 16 in June 1978 as a general assistant and progressed very quickly to become a Supervisor by the age of 18. I would stand in for the provisions manager Stephen Hunt on his days off and also ran the evening shift on many occasions. My duties were endless and I loved every minute of it. I moved from Seaford to Hastings Branch in about 1983 to train staff up ready to run the Deli counter that I was to Supervise at the new branch in Lewes Rd Brighton, which opened in early 1985. I have so many happy memories of my 7 years working for JS, they remain with me always.
