"I started for Sainsbury’s from leaving school. I had a fortnights training at Blackfriars, the head office. For a village girl to go to the docks and see bananas on the stalk and to Renshaws almond factory and to the V&A museum was mind blowing! The photo is taken by where we used to pat the butter up for the customers. I worked there till I was 20 then left to get married."
