I joined JS Oxted 845 in 1959 as a 15 year old school leaver great days with some wonderful people to work with. A gentleman manager Mr Squires, Bill Langridge, 1st hand & deputy manager, a great teacher to follow, Mr Kensett head butcher. SSA, trips to London theatres & girls teams netball matches & darts contests between branches for the fellas.
Great staff canteen with a cook housekeeper & brought us down hot Bovril drink in the cold weather. Happy days we all worked as a great team. In 1965 my wife came over from Redhill branch on relief & we married two years later.
